The field of Study selected from the syllabus is the Later Modern History Field.
There are 12 topics, six from Irish History and six from the history of Europe and the Wider World. Every year, one of these topics is pre-nominated by the Examinations Commission to be examined through a document based question.
The Topic selected for 2010-2011 is Politics and Society in Northern Ireland
The Topic selected for 2011-2012 is The Retreat from Empire and it’s Aftermath.
